Hermione’s Story

Just to warn you, there is a rather graphic image of Hermione’s wound at the end of this blog, if you are of a squeamish disposition.

Hermione was only a baby when she was brought to us on 12th November, just 221g. She was found in a park that was having its grass cut and she had a nasty wound on her back with 50% of the skin and prickles missing. Thankfully it had not cut into the muscle but she was very sore and not at all amused by her experience.

Antibiotics have been administered along with daily wound care and little Hermione is healing beautifully and is doing really well – in fact she is not so “little” now having nearly doubled her weight to 400g! On 22nd November she went to Dart Vale Veterinary Surgery at Totnes and had her wound neatly trimmed up and debrided by Lauren Jennings.

Below are a couple of before and after photos.
